The backwards theory LOL
Hi all! I just wanna start an investigation into the possiblity of these podcast being either backwards in order or all out of date order...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post comments on this subject!!!! This will be the best way to figure it out!
Here is a comment I snagged from The LOST experience comments from one of the best, BellyOfdesire:
I don't know if they are backwards... I think they may just be out of order... I have no doubt about it at this point.
I think they are in this order (i'm probably wrong... this was determined by logical deduction):
6/13 - no tonya, no mention of persephone, no catchphrase, no sponsors
5/26 - only place where it would fit based on the position of the others
5/16 - references orson wells quite a bit and the podcast was found in the orson wells folder
6/8 - call from Hanso goon, Dj Dan states that he's going to "name a successor"
6/01 - DJ Dan NAMES successor.
Anyway, definitely count me in on this "bandwagon"... they are NOT in order... I think we will find out more about the real order as we get more podcasts, but good catch Lena... FO SHO!

podcast 1 (aka 5/16) mentions Persephone's hacks, which makes it a post May 2nd recording. Unfortunately Tonya's mention of the Red Sox win isn't specific enough to date it any more accurately than that (I've always thought the Red Sox reference was to do with Jack's Dad... interesting the date was Oct 27th... lots of Oct 28th references in game).
podcast 2 (5/26) mentions Persephone, thus also post May 2nd, though says Persephone doesn't even know what Hanso are up to (could just be saying she has some idea but not the whole picture). What is everyone else's take on this... this podcast seems to imply it is repeating excepts from an interview from the day before which linked college student simulations of electromagnetic superweapons to Widmore Corp, and as a result there was a very nervous government and "the plug has been pulled from the weapons program". I can't see why the plug would be pulled unless this interview was public, but why re-present it as excerpts
podcast 3 (aka 6/1) mentions Persephone, thus also post May 2nd. Has a caller refering to the sponsorship on DJDan's site... this could be a little hazy. In the real world the site has only been up since May 16th, but in game maybe it is supposed to have been up for longer. I can't recall if the sponsor banners have been up the whole time or not. Anyway, not sure if we can use that to help date this podcast.
podcast 4 (aka 6/8) mentions Persephone, thus also post May 2nd. Shark-photo contributor Richard... The shark photo has been on the site since it went up, which puts this podcast being recorded between May 2nd and May 16th when DJDan's site went up.
(as a side note, if Richard is conspiraspy of the month... was that just the month of May? or just a general thing? Will we see a change in the conspiraspy of the month soon?)
podcast 5 (aka 13/6 which appeared 14/6 on the ROT messageboard). Nothing in this podcast to date it other than post-92 :-P There was nothing to date anything about the Korean off-shore project in Persephone's hack was there? I guess the only thing was it seemed to be mentioned on that phone message right at the start of this game, as Frenchie pointed that might have been uncovered early May.
And I know in the past I have mentioned the DJDan site going up on May 5th, I think that was just my confusion with the way dates are written in the US.
so nothing that contradicts or confirms what has already been posted... just my understanding of it all
lavenda: a great summary of all the podcasts... you're right about the dates being confusing... I forget about that when I talk to people outside of the states...
but what do you think? do you think they are out of order?
I don't think we have enough information to say for sure... if they are out of order I'm tempted to think there is some significance in that. For the last few there has been a common theme between Persephone's clues and DJDan's podcasts, which would explain why certain podcasts have been posted at certain times. Other than that... I'm parking my butt on the fence :D
